about us

Several years ago we moved to Garrison Village, just on the edge of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We found ourselves busier than ever in our retirement, but we always made time for welcoming friends into our dream home. Soon enough we discovered we loved hosting guests - Rose Haven Bed & Breakfast was born.

Are you looking to explore local wineries? Or take a bike ride through the "Old Town"? Or stay somewhere more relaxing than Niagara Falls? We invite you to visit us year-round to enjoy our home in one of the most beautiful and magical places in Canada.

Reviews

This was the perfect getaway for us. The room and house were pristine and the breakfast divine. Joan makes Martha Stewart look like an amateur. She and her husband Dick were warm, inviting and very helpful with suggestions for dining and entertainment.

Joan and Dick were the perfect hosts from the moment we booked. They communicated with us in a very timely manner and answered all of our questions quickly. Their home is in a superb location, especially if you are taking your bikes as it’s only a 5 min ride to downtown! We parked the car and spent the whole weekend on the bikes. They provided us with maps of the trails, coupons for wine and beer tastings and an incredibly delicious breakfast in the morning. The room was large and clean with an ensuite bathroom. The fridge in the room was a bonus as well as coffee and tea they provided. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in quaint Niagara-on-the-Lake! You can tell these home owners love being hosts. Thanks again!

Such a lovely B and B in the heart of Niagara on the lake! The house itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated. From the garden outside to the room itself, it was perfect. Our hosts were easy to get a hold of and very friendly. The breakfast exceeded my expectations and was very nicely presented. Overall a great first visit to NOTL.

From the minute we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The room was spacious, comfortable and actually more spacious than we expected (the pictures don’t necessarily do it justice). The bed was very comfortable and we slept wonderfully. The living room is very well decorated and comfortable. The gardens outside are peaceful, beautiful and well maintained. The breakfasts we enjoyed on both days were both plentiful and delicious and the hosts did a wonderful job of incorporating gluten free options for our dietary restrictions. We did not go hungry! The house is close enough to the main street that you can walk in less than 25 minutes or bike in less than 10 minutes to the shops. We have no hesitation in recommending Rose Haven Bed & Breakfast to anyone going to the NOTL area. We will certainly be returning. Thank you, Joan and Dick!

Joan and her husband Dick are the perfect BnB hosts! They were both very welcoming and helpful with guidance regarding the area attractions and events. Their home is beautiful, impeccably clean and they are gracious in sharing it...even the beautiful backyard porch. We loved the Peony Room! It is truly as pretty as the picture implies with a wonderfully comfortable bed, private bath and his/hers sinks. Joan went above and beyond in breakfast preparation which was truly delicious each day. Dick’s smoothie was a wonderful addition too! The neighborhood is very nice and quiet with nice homes, and a bike path across the street from the house goes directly into town. We cycled into downtown in less than 10 minutes. Joan and Dick have bicycles to borrow, and loaned us a lock for our bikes since we had forgotten ours. They both went out of their way to make us feel welcome, answer any questions we had, visit and research things for us as we needed. It is very evident that they enjoy being BnB hosts, and they both do an exemplary job at filling the roll!

Joan and Dick are lovely and helpful hosts. They are located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Their yard and home are simply gorgeous. The room, bed, and breakfast were beyond our expectations. The location was perfect for attending the Shaw Festival. We appreciated that it was impeccably clean and very quiet.

Joan and Dick were the perfect hosts. The house is beautiful and the garden in the backyard was gorgeous and peaceful. It was a lovely place for a cup of coffee in the morning or to listen to crickets in the evening. The room was well appointed with plenty of storage and the bedding was quite plush. The breakfast provided by Joan was delicious. There was not a single detail about which to complain. The location is just a little outside the historic district, but it was a lovely and easy walk to everything. We would stay with Joan and Dick in this beautiful house again.

Wow! In a word - perfect. Comfortable bed, cozy and spacious room, first-rate amenities, plush towels, beautiful perennial garden, fabulous multiple course breakfast, spotlessly clean, meticulous attention to detail, nice bikes to borrow to tool around town, and best of all, lovely, gracious hosts. Thank you, Joan and Dick!
